All Jackson stations are actively working on the detailed plans for the upcoming Second Annual Jackson Training Task Force Seminar scheduled for Saturday, November 3, 2012.  The task force is excited to announce that Jackson is hosting Chief Mike Bryant of the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Chief Richard Blatus of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) – highlighted as “East Meets West”.  Station Chiefs Robert Haskins, Tim Carson, Adam Poppe and Scott Rauch invite all fire fighters from NJ and surrounding states to this premier training opportunity.

Building on last year’s successful event, the planning committee composed of members from all four stations/districts are busy working on the seminar — from securing vendors, to obtaining food donations and marketing.

Chief Mike Bryant’s presentation entitled “Command and Control” is based on the myriad of incidents that he has commanded over 32 years.  Those incidents include numerous wild fires in Southern California. Chief Bryant will focus on the incident priorities and analyzes the development of strategy objectives and modes of operation related to improving command and control decisions.

Battalion Chief Richard Blatus is currently the Rescue Battalion — FDNY Special Operations Command and will speak on the subject of “The View From the Street — First 20 Minutes”.   Chief Blatus will provide an interactive program to provide seminar participants the opportunity to evaluate the early pitfalls faced when operating on the fire ground — especially evident within the first 20 minutes of the incident.

There will be a special incentive for the first 100 paid pre-registrants.
