Jackson Fire Stations 54, 55, 56 and 57 were involved in a search for a missing person and recovery of a body during the morning hours of Friday, August 17, 2012.

Just after 7:30 a.m., all Jackson fire stations were requested to assist in a search being coordinated by the Jackson Police Department — concentrated on the area in the vicinity of Lake Enno near Bennetts Mills Road.  Jackson Station 55-1 located on Kierych Memorial Drive served as the integrated incident command post, which was staffed by Jackson Police, Jackson Fire, Jackson First Aid, Quality EMS, and the Squankum Fire Department Dive Team.  The search was ended at 10:00 a.m. when a deceased male matching the missing person’s description was located in the river about 100 yards from Bennetts Mills Road.  The male’s body was recovered and subsequently transferred to law enforcement and medical officials at the scene.
