For one family of Olathe, Kansas, Super Bowl Sunday 2009 was not quite what they expected. After the owner smelled smoke, he went to a neighbor's house to grab a flashlight to find the cause. When the fire department arrived on scene with fire "billowing from under the roof", the owner had one urgent demand for the fire crew: save the red Ferrari!
Fire crews were able to push the Ferrari out of the garage, and extinguish the fire. Estimates of property damage are at $80,000. The responding crew took 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
It's unknown if the owner will have to sell his Ferrari after all to help pay for the home repairs.
