Super Bowl Ferrari Save

Ferrari SaveFor one family of Olathe, Kansas, Super Bowl Sunday 2009 was not quite what they expected. After the owner smelled smoke, he went to a neighbor's house to grab a flashlight to find the cause. When the fire department arrived on scene with fire "billowing from under the roof", the owner had one urgent demand for the fire crew: save the red Ferrari!

Fire crews were able to push the Ferrari out of the garage, and extinguish the fire. Estimates of property damage are at $80,000. The responding crew took 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

It's unknown if the owner will have to sell his Ferrari after all to help pay for the home repairs.

Fire Safety Tips

Be aware that if a fire threatens your home, you should not place the call to emergency services from inside the home. It is better to get out and place the call to fire authorities from a safe location outside the home.
