Jackson Station 55

The Jackson Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 bestowed its highest honor on member and Past President Kevin Wilson by naming him as an Honorary Fire Chief at a dinner event on Saturday April 18, 2009 at the main fire station.

Kevin thought he was attending an awards ceremony for other members. Imagine his surprise as he and Mrs. Wilson entered a room filled with fellow fire company members, their families and many of his own family and friends there to honor him for his past service that included fire officer. The event was particularly noteworthy and moving as Kevin has recently been fighting a serious illness.

Company President John Hussey and Chief Mike Fatovic presided as he was awarded a chief's badge and traditional emblems -- as past company chief officers stood beside him. Kevin was sworn in by Past Chief Ricky Masker. It was a great evening as everyone enjoyed the great food and friends.
