On Friday, June 13 at 17:48 hours Station 55 (Jackson) and 54 (Jackson Mills) were dispatched by Ocean County Fire for a report of a deck fire, possible structure at an 8-family apartment/condo unit at the Willow Point Complex off East Commodore Boulevard in Jackson Mills' district. First arriving Chief 5400 Mike Lubertazzi reported a working structure with heavy fire in the attic and upper second floor area of the A/D Sections. Chief 5500 Chip Smith arrived next and assisted Chief 5400 with Incident Command. Engine 5521 was first due with arrival orders to open with a deck gun attack into the attic.

Station 54 and 55 on Working Barn Structure Fire

On Tuesday morning May 20 at 0504 hours, Stations 54 and 55 were dispatched for a structure fire on Gomberg Avenue off Hyson Road. While en route, all responding companies were notified by Ocean County Fire that it was a fully involved structure with animals inside. On arrival, Chief 5500 Chip Smith, 5510 Mike Fatovic and 5420 Ray Tremor found a barn structure at the end of Gomberg Avenue heavily involved in fire on Sides A & D.

The new 5505 is well on its way to being complete, and the manufacturer reports that the aerial device was recently merged with the chassis for testing. Up ahead is final pump and road testing.

Condolences and a thank you to the North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue Department

The Jackson Vol. Fire Co. No. 1 Station 55 extends our condolences and a thank you to our brother firefighters at North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue Department for their assistance, hospitality and courtesies extended to our Company and Fire District during the viewing and funeral of NHRFR Captain Carmine Flora, who also served as an elected Fire Commissioner of Jackson Fire District 3.

Death Announcement: Fire District 3 Commissioner Carmine Flora

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Fire District 3 Commissioner Carmine Flora.  Carmine passed away on Sunday March 2, 2008.  Prior to his death, he was a Captain of Squad 2 in the North Hudson Regional Fire Department.  The Jackson Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 extends our deepest condolences to his family and our brother firefighters at North Hudson.  May Carmine rest in peace.

Extrication Assignment on Farmingdale Road on a two-day old Lexus

At 21:34 hours on Sunday, March 2 Stations 54 and 55 were dispatched to an overturned with extrication in front of 901 Farmingdale Road.  Upon arrival, Chief 5400 advised that a vehicle was upright, off the road and in the front yard of a house, with an occupant that required extrication.  Rescue 5503 with Captain Carson 5520 and Engine 5521 responded to the scene.  Chief Smith 5500 further advised that Station 54 could recall, as the assignment could be handled with the Rescue and one Engine.
